Zalucka 8th,Team 12th at Great Lakes Regional
Adriana Zalucka became the third Akron woman to qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championships by virtue of her 8th-place finish at the Great Lakes Regional. Her performance helped lead the team to a 12th-place finish. Morgan Sulzener (63rd), Erin Frye (67th), Lisa McCaulley (81st), and Brandi Schoeppner (121st) joined Zalucka in Akron's top five. In 1992 Judy Ervin placed 11th in the regional meet to qualify for NCAAs, where she finished 76th. In 1999 Michelle Rizzo earned her trip to the national meet by placing 3rd at regionals. At the NCAA meet Michelle placed 38th, to become an All American.
