Sophomore Adriana Zalucka won the individual title at the Miami Fall Classic and helped lead the Zips to a second-place finish at the Miami Fall Classic. Akron scored 42 points, trailing only Miami's score of 23 points. Zalucka, who won the Tommy Evans Invitational in her Akron debut, ran 17:21 on Miami's Western Campus Course. That time ranks her fifth fastest on the all-time course list. She was followed by captain Erin Frye (18:27), Morgan Sulzener (18:31), Lisa McCaulley (18:54), and Brandi Schoeppner (19:10).

David Howard paced the men, placing 9th overall and first freshman. Howard's time, 25:21, is the fastest recorded by a Zip in two years. He was followed across the finish line by Chris Perun (26:08), Todd Moyers (26:13), David Pykare (26:52), and Tim Myers (26:56). Akron placed fourth with a score of 81 points in the men's competition.
