49th at NCAA Championships
Adriana
Zalucka raced to a 49th-place finish at Monday's NCAA Championships, recording
a time of 20:48. She placed 2nd among MAC runners and 6th from the Great
Lakes Region. Zalucka placed 3rd at the MAC Championships and 8th at the
regional meet. Her time is the fastest ever recorded by an Akron woman
for the 6km (3.7M) distance. Bobbie Hardbarger ran 21:26 at the 2001 Great
Lakes Regional on the same course in Terre Haute, IN. Adriana passed 5km
in an estimated time of 17:17.
Adriana's
performance capped a tremendous season in which she was the Zips' number
one finisher in every race she ran. She was the individual champion in
the Tommy Evans Invitational and the Miami Fall Classic. She was All Ohio,
All MAC, and All Great Lakes Region.
