Rudzinska Runs 2:04.71 at Drake. Zalucka Runs 34:30.25 at Penn.

Beata Rudzinska ran 2:04.71 in the special invitational 800m at the Drake Relays to establish a new Akron record in the event, topping the 2:10.42 run by Bobbie Hardbarger last year. Rudzinska was the top collegiate performer in the meet and fourth overall. After an opening 400m in 61.7 seconds, she ran the next 200m in 31.5 seconds and the final 200m in 31.3 seconds, passing four runners in the homestretch.

Running in her first 10,000m race Adriana Zalucka placed third among college women at Penn Relays. She too set a new school record, 34:30.25. Running cautiously for the first half, she passed 5km in 17:20 before speeding up for a 17:10 final 5km. Morgan Sulzener (17:19.79) and Lisa McCaulley (17:21.03) also took advantage of the conditions at Penn to record new personal bests in the 5,000m.
