Men Capture All Ohio Championships, Women Third
Beata Rudzinska and the women's distance medley relay emerged victorious, and several other Akron distance runners placed in the top three at the All Ohio Championships hosted by the University of Findlay. Rudzinska made her season debut and won the 800m with a time of 2:08.72. Placing second in that race was freshman teammate Rachel Zubricky (2:16.15). The two teamed up in the distance medley relay, with Lucretia Corbin and Emily Freudenrich to win that event and set a new Malcom Fieldhouse record. Joining Zubricky with runner-up finishes were David Pykare in the men's mile (4:17.27) and Brandi Schoeppner in the women's 3,000m (10:09.28). Morgan Sulzener placed third in the women's 5,000m.
