Akron Women Place Third at MAC Outdoor Championships

Scoring in every distance event, including a 1-3-4 finish in the 800m, helped the Akron women to a third-place finish at the MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Beata Rudzinska, who was named the women's Outstanding Performer award for winning the 800m (2:05.87) and the 1,500m (4:21.11 PR and MAC meet record). Jennie Castle (3rd, 2:08.23 PR) and Emily Freudenrich (4th, 2:09.27 PR) followed Rudzinska across the line and qualified for the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships.

Morgan Sulzener placed third in the 10,000m and came back to run a PR 17:05.94 to place 6th in the 5,000m. Also scoring in the 5,000m was Brandi Schoeppner (8th, 17:12.40). Becki Michael scored in the 3,000m steeplechase (7th, 11:12.18 PR).
