Women 8th, Men 11th at Notre Dame Invitational

The Akron women finished a strong 8th at the Notre Dame Invitational defeating MAC rivals Ball State, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, and Eastern Michigan in the process. Adriana Zalucka made her season debut a productive one, placing 16th in 17:58, one second faster than her effort there last year. Jennie Castle continued her impressive season running her third consecutive lifetime best in cross country, 17:58, to finish directly behind Zalucka. Morgan Sulzener, the team's number one runner in the first two meets, ran 18:13 (30th) despite nursing a sinus infection. Brandi Schoeppner (18:57, 72nd) and Katrina Jones (19:03, 81st) rounded out the Zips' top 5.

The men's team placed 11th in the Gold Division race. Chris Perun paced the Zips with his 25:54 clocking (30th). He was followed by David Pykare (26:22, 39th), Scott Mate (26:52, 63rd), Adam Bray (27:02, 72nd), and Andrew Adam (29:30, 112nd). David Howard did not compete due to a strained muscle.
