Zip Women 2nd, Men 6th in MAC Coaches Pre-Season Poll
MAC coaches picked the Akron women to place second in the pre-season poll, the highest-ever pre-season ranking for the women's team. The improving men's team also had their highest recent ranking capturing the sixth slot. The women return six point scorers from last season's indoor and outdoor track championships and two-time third place finisher in cross country Adriana Zalucka. The men return five letterwinners from the 2003 season, including two-time team MVP David Howard, and add 2002 letterman Todd Moyers to the lineup. Both teams open practice on Saturday, August 28. The first meet will be the Lake Marie Relays on September 4. The Zips home meet, the Tommy Evans Invitational, will be held at Firestone Metro park on September 11.
