Men Earn 6th, Women 3rd at MAC Championships
Four Zips Earn All MAC Honors
The men's cross country team achieved its highest placing ever in the MAC Cross Country Championships with a sixth-place finish. Leading the way for the Zips was David Howard in 10th place. He became only the second Akron male to earn a spot on the All MAC team. David Pykare (21st) and Scott Mate (32nd) improved dramatically on their scoring placings in last year's meet (Pykare 46th, Mate 56th). Jeff Swartzel (41st) and Chris Perun (44th) completed the Zips' scoring.
The women had three of the top eight finishers led by Beata Rudzinska (3rd). She was joined on the All MAC first team by Jennie Castle (6th). Morgan Sulzener earned her second All MAC recognition with an eighth-place finish. Brandi Schoeppner (44th) and Rachel Zubricky (45th) rounded out the Zips' top five.
