Information for Donors

Donating Personal Papers or Organizational Records to the Archives

Knight Hall, 1956 Most of the items in the Archives are available for research because they have been generously donated to us by individuals or organizations that are interested in providing documentation about the history of people and events. Along this line, we continually attempt to acquire materials that fall within our collecting focus, in particular the history of The University of Akron and the greater Akron region. If you have any such materials or know of items that might have value for long-term preservation, please contact the Director of Archival Services.

Monetary Donations

Preserving documents and preparing them for use by researchers is an expensive operation. Donations or grants to the Archives toward the conservation, arrangement, and description of materials provide valuable assistance to the University’s archival programs. Please contact the Director of Archival Services if you would be interested in considering such a donation.
