Toggling between records
by David Procházka
I just figured out how to move from one record to the next in Millennium, without having to close down a screen. I thought my fellow users might be interested.
If your search resulted in more than one hit, you got a list of records to choose from. If you look at one record and want to move to a record before or after it, use the following commands:
- <ctrl> ] to go to next record in a list (for bibliographic and authority records)
- <ctrl> [ to go previous record in a list (ibid)
To move between multiple item records in a list, use:
- <ctrl> < to move to next item record (yep, that’s the control key and the "greater than" symbol)
- <ctrl< < to move to previous item record (control key and the "less than" symbol
Validating Series Titles
by David Procházka
I just discovered an enhancement in Millennium that isn’t terribly obvious.
In Innopac, if you tried to validate a numbered series, it would not find the appropriate authority record (because of the subfield z). Millennium can actually tell you (by showing a "1" in the code column) that there is an authority record for a numbered series.
Not earthshaking, but I’m trying to convince myself that Millennium is better than Innopac, so every positive feature helps!
